Reasons to publish in oekom science journals
oekom journals are the right choice for your research. Convince yourself with the following brief overview of our services.
You will find detailed information regarding the services on the journal websites.
Peer Review
Manuscripts submitted to our journals GAIA, TATuP and Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning are subject to peer review including independent external reviewers. The purpose of peer review is to assist the Editorial Boards in making editorial decisions; it may also assist the author(s) in improving their manuscripts. Specific peer review policies and processes are detailed on the journal websites.
Open Access and Self-archiving
oekom supports Open Access and thus the goal of the widest possible dissemination of scientific content.
We are a signatory of the Budapest Open Access Initiative which supports open access to peer-reviewed journal literature through a) Self-archiving (Green Open Access) and b) Open-access journals (Gold or Diamond Open Access).
For our journals, we offer different options in order to make open access work – from Diamond to Green Open Access.
The different options ensure that the publisher’s costs for services such as the organisation of the peer review process, typesetting, copyediting, online publication, distribution, or long term archiving are met. Please take a look at the Open Access Policies for our journals GAIA, Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning and TATuP.
In any case, authors retain copyright for their articles.
We fully support and encourage author self-archiving of all content without an embargo period. Our journals are registered with SHERPA/RoMEO to ensure that the license terms and self-archiving policies are fully transparent.
The full open access journals TATuP and Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning are indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and have been awarded the DOAJ Seal. The DOAJ Seal is given to journals that demonstrate best practice in open access publishing. Only around 10 % of journals indexed in DOAJ have been awarded the DOAJ Seal.
The Open Access Policies of our scientific journals meet the requirements of most national and international research funders. You can find out which Open Access Policies are supported by your funder by using the Journal Checker Tool.
Do you need further advice? We will be happy to assist.
